Hola, Buenos Dias!
After our last beautiful connecting flight from Lima to Cusco; we finally arrived in our city of nursing practice at around 7:15am Peruvian time!
Photos submitted by Morgan Edwards
We met Callie and Manfred (representatives from United Planet) at the airport. After that we then travelled by bus to street about a block from our hostel. We walked about 8 minutes up this narrow cobblestone road (see picture below) with all of our suitcases to reach the hostel.

We took advantage of our little bit of free time and grabbed some showers and rested.
Some of us went to check out the market just around the corner from our hostel and others went to grab a quick bite to eat.

After our short period of free time we then commenced a Cusco City tour! The tour was Instructed by Alrich seen below:

We learned a lot about the Inca and Quechua peoples and the culture/ways of living.
Our journey then led us to check out some Inca ruins in a very dark and narrow cave! Rules were no lights. So no pictures, no flash/flashlights; this made for a very scary experience.

After we took a look at this part of the city we journeyed to SacSayWaman an Inca architecture of the imperial city of Cusco- originally called a fortress.

After checking out the Inca Architecture from afar our tour guide took us for a closer look!

Instructors pose for a pic !

Kelsey looking confused after Rebecca told her to look up
We also stopped to see some Alpacas

On the way to the Inca ruins we found this amazing rock slide.
At around 4:30pm Peruvian time we went and visited the countyβs agriculture and cultivation lands. Peru Harvests/produces over 4000 different types of potatoes

We then stopped in a store in the locals neighborhood. A nice lady there showed us how to find out the difference between real and synthetic alpaca sweaters. A few of us bought some alpaca wool made sweaters and other merchandise items.

After a long city tour we decided to add the last piece on to tomorrowβs scared valley tour; so we hoped on the bus and went back to our hostel for a short time before our welcome dinner complements of United Plant at Los Toldos Chicken (which is a place famous for making excellent chicken meals.)

That is all for now, we had a very eventful day.
Time to rest up and start again tomorrow!

Looks like you all are enjoying the experience!! Continue having fun and stay safe
